Legal Defense Fund is the nation’s largest and most successful Legal Defense Fund, run by and for peace officers. The Fund has been in existence since 1974 and currently has more than 135,000 members. The Fund is an ERISA Trust that provides legal service benefits for public safety personnel. The Fund currently has reserves of more than $30,000,000.

Our goal at Under the Shield is to meet the “unique” needs of law enforcement, fire service, emergency medical service, military personnel and their family members by providing support through confidential services, education, and public awareness.
